PESHAWAR: A lone ‘Daish zindabad’ slogan inscribed on a wall in Swati Bazaar caused locals to panic on Thursday.

The wall chalking was found within the jurisdiction of Pishtakhara police and is the third or fourth of its kind.

Police said someone had written the slogan on the wall of a local’s house at night. It was later removed by the owner.

“It was just a single slogan and nothing else,” an official of the police station told The Express Tribune.

Similar graffiti was previously spotted inside the walled city, mostly in the jurisdiction of Hasthnagari police station.

It was found twice on school walls and once on a residential street in Sikanadarpura.
