PESHAWAR: Minister for Health Shahram Khan Tarakai has termed polio a serious issue; not only for K-P but for the country as well, adding the health department has been utilising all its resources to overcome the issue. He said this while talking to the media at the ‘Emergency Room Trauma Course’ held at Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) in collaboration with International Committee of the Red Cross on Wednesday. Tarakai said doctors are also being engaged and taken on-board for the health reforms. He said doctors at LRH are qualified and trained to deal with any situation but, “we want to equip our doctors with modern techniques to deal with any emergency situation.”  He shared they have been working with the Pakistan Red Crescent Society. LRH Chief Executive Officer Muzaffaruddin Sadiq said doctors at the hospital have treated over 0.7 million people from February to October, adding they conduct 40 to 60 surgeries on a daily basis.
