2.5 million illegal immigrants living in Sindh: Interior secretary
Official says 'black sheep' present in police force and other departments
KARACHI:
At least 2.5 million illegal refugees are residing in Sindh, Interior Secretary of Sindh Niaz Abbasi said in a press statement on Tuesday, Express News reported.
"There are 2.5million people living in Sindh illegally, of which, 0.9million are Afghan refugees; this is an injustice to the province," said Abbasi.
The interior secretary also gave a briefing at Garden Police Headquarters, where he said that out of 12 million weapon licences, only 25 per cent have been registered and computerised.
Commenting on police performance in the province, Abbasi said a few 'black sheep' were present in the force as well as other security departments. He said action is taken against such elements.
