Peace in Pakistan linked to peaceful Afghanistan: Khawaja Asif
Defence minister says Pakistan wants to improve ties with India, Afghanistan
ISLAMABAD:
Stressing the significance of regional cooperation, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Tuesday said peace in Pakistan is linked to peace in Afghanistan, Express News reported.
Addressing a press conference following an event at the Institute of Strategic Studies in Islamabad, Asif condemned Indian attacks along the Line of Control (LoC) and emphasised that disputed matters could be resolved through dialogue between the two countries.
“We want to maintain peace in the subcontinent,” he added.
Speaking about the US polices in the Asian region, the minister said the superpower has badly failed.
He, however, added that recent visit of Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif has clearly improved ties with US.
