The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has said that it will complete the ongoing renovation, expansion and development work at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad by January next year.
Talking to APP here on Monday, CAA spokesman Mubarak Shah said the authority was making all possible efforts to expand the parking area, extend the international departure lounge and create space for installation of latest security equipment and extra check-in counters for passengers.
He said the airport was facing the problem of space congestion with the arrival of increasing number of foreign airlines. However, the CAA’s top management is taking steps to bring improvement.
The expansion work at the airport will also provide a spacious area for the movement of passengers.
According to the spokesman, a separate and exclusive car park for the officials has considerably reduced congestion in the existing parking lot for the passengers.
