ISLAMABAD:
Around 1,400 Hindus religious sites across the country are in dire need of protection by the government, the representative body of Hindus said on Saturday, while condemning the attack on a temple in a town in Sindh.
Patron-in-chief of Pakistan Hindu Council MNA Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani has strongly condemned the torching of Hanuman Mandir on Friday in Tando Mohammad Khan, located 40 kilometres away from Hyderabad, Sindh.
Pakistan Hindu Council, in a statement issued on Saturday, requested the government for the provision of security of Hindu worship places at national level.
Dr Ramesh also regretted the burning of Hindu holy books Geeta and Ramayan in Shikarpur district of Sindh in March this year. Such incidents could be avoided, if the Supreme Court orders regarding protection of minorities were implemented, he said. He further questioned that why innocent minorities were left at the mercy of extremists.

No doubt this is the greatest and biggest ever tragedy and dilemma for the corrupt Pakistani leadership that minorities' worship's places are unsafe in Pakistan but how shamefully few handful Pakistani extremists' brutal apparent attitude is being portrayed in the world and defaming all the peace loving Pakistani people and this is what the negative propaganda the international media wants against to spread all over the world. Are all the worship places in India safe of the other religion's people that India is defaming Pakistan?????
shameful act of extremism !!! all worship places must be equally respected. Be it a temple, church or mosque. Pakistan is paying ransom of Gen. Zia ul Haq's heinous crime of patronizing the religious extremism. He was the one who made serious changes in curriculum and removed Quid-e-Azam speeches from school & college courses where in his first speech as Gov. General of Pakistan, Quid declared all Pakistani citizen as equal and free to go to their temple, church or mosque. I still have class IX English syllabus book of 1976 where this speech was part of school syllabus. Now we don't see this any where in any book or on media... a curse of Gen Zia !!! Pakistan was derailed from its original track by this silly Gen. Sindh government must immediately arrange the repair / reconstruction of the temple to its original state.
Lets see if some one is jailed/hanged for this blasphemy like Asia bibi.
disgusting and shameful.
Pakistan which still harps on Babri masjid even after decades while regularly destroying religious places of other religions should be renamed Hypocristan-The Citadel of Hypocrisy
A trivia.. First to demand rights/welfare when in minority. First to deny rights of minorities when in majority. Who are they ?
pakistan was created on hatred ideology, now this condemnable & shameful act perpetuated by barbarians only justifies above said ideology.world over we are being ignored and looked as uneducated people all over world i have travelled almost every country in the world. we are fighting with India which is third largest econmy in the world, clout they have all over the world is commendable.they are only rising in every sphere.May Good sence prevail in our people and politicians.
What a shameful thing to do. Where is the writ of government and conscience of the people? We have to stop burying our head in the sand and stop these cruel acts once and for all.
Muslims the world over talk about the demolition of the Babri Mosque even though it was not used as a place of worship for decades saying that Hindus did it because they hate Muslims. What is this torching of Hanuman temple represent but the disregard of Muslims about the feelings of Hindus. No Muslim will complain about this destruction. What hypocrites
People here still harp on about Babri Mosque's demolition in India many years ago but conveniently ignore the hundreds of temples and churches burnt in Pakistan. I guess some religions are more equal than others.
@syed baqar ahsan: Muslims have had this casual attitude the world over for too long.
Its a organised gang who is on the wheels putting stores, factories, railway passengers wagons,blasting/torching religious sites, govt building and schools. Its the result of causal attitude and compromise.
As expected - no comments from any of my countrymen who leave no chance to tell others how morally and ethically corrupt other societies are. I am really surprised that we start accusing India of not doing enough to protect the minorities when one Mosque is demolished in 50 years but we remain silent when temples are being destroyed in our own country on a weekly, if not daily, basis. This shows our double standards. But then I guess its Pakistan, the only country where all the intellectuals, pious, sane individuals live. I must be seeing something wrong- there cannot be anything wrong with Pakistan
Who does these stupid things??
Had the converse happened in India the Muslim world in general & Pak in particular would have been up in arms for burning of the Holy Book.
Pakistan is slowly turning into a lawless pariah state fast moving towards fundamentalism.
I suppose this is the Pakistani version of secular Democratic society !
On going violence against the original people of Pakistan is not going unnoticed.
This is strongly condemnable & shameful act perpetuated by barbarians . Is Pak government sleeping . If such an incident were to happen in Indian i wonder what would be Pak response.. totally shameless act...
Hindus, Christians, sikhs ,ahmedis are living on worst possible conditions for humans.these kind of news are nothing new. until UN take strict, notice, nothing is going to happen.
