Advocate Wasif secures 1,760 votes, Sajjad Akbar secures 1,586 while Faisal Qusain gets 1,418 votes

Punjab Bar Council: Pindi’s unofficial result announced

RAWALPINDI: More that 7,054 voters cast their ballots for 31 candidates contesting elections for membership of the Punjab Bar Council on Saturday. There are 5,080 voters of the Rawalpindi District Bar Association who cast their votes for candidates contesting elections on Rawalpindi’s seats. Around 21 candidates were in the run for five seats for Rawalpindi District out of a total of eight seats. According to unofficial results, Advocate Wasif Chaudhry secured 1,760 votes, followed by Sajjad Akbar Abbassi who secured 1,586 while Faisal Qusain Mufti got 1,418 votes. Moreover, Zulfiqar Abbas Naqvi polled 1,475 and Syed Intezar Mehdi Shah secured 1,142 votes. The results will be sent to Lahore and officially be announced on November 25.
