A large number of Sikh and Hindu Yatrees arrived here by a special train from Karachi and interior Sindh to participate in the celebrations. They were received by the district administration and Evacuee Trust Property Board officials.
Member Shuromni Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee of Amritsar, Sardar Swinder Singh, said that he and his colleagues were satisfied with the security arrangements made by the Pakistan government and the district administration. He thanked the government of Pakistan for the maintenance of their shrines.
DCO Iqbal Hassan with DPO Shahzad Waheed visited Gurdwara Janam Asthan and checked security arrangements.
He said a large number of police officials have been deployed around the gurdwaras to avoid any untoward incident. He said that no Sikh Yatree would be allowed to leave the city and transporters had been asked to follow instructions in the regard.
