Hamid’s resignation comes hours after a special court in Islamabad partially accepted former president Pervez Musharraf’s plea, deciding to include Hamid in investigations in the high treason trial.
According to reports, Hamid does not want to retain a federal seat while investigations are being conducted against him. However, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said Hamid's resignation has not been accepted as of yet and the government will decide on the matter after consultations with the prime minister.
Hamid was the law minister during Musharraf’s tenure and has been mentioned as a co-conspirator in the emergency imposed on November 3, 2007.
The court has decided that then prime minister Shaukat Aziz, then law minister Zahid Hamid and then chief justice of Pakistan Abdul Hameed Dogar will be included in the investigation but Musharraf’s request for including then top military leaders was not accepted.

Is he being used by PMLn to show how honourable their leadership is that they resign by the mere inclusion of a person in a court case? I dont think so. If that were the case almost all on the PMLn would resign starting from PM downwards. I guess its wishful thinking.
A good lesson for Khadam-e-Ala. Respect is earned and this is the right way of earning it.
A new turn in Mussaraf case . This drama is bound to have no climax . This man has saved the existence of Pakistan and still playing dicisive role im Pakistsn's polirics .
At least there is one respectable person around...
It looks like this man has got some morals in him, something we rarely see in Pakistan.
court honours to include civilians but dishonours to include military. how honourable! this only shows that what is this drama, it is all power play, nothing about justice. it is only power play to pleasing the america, thats all.
So is the decision honour based.......or guilty conscience based ?
In short, the court decided to do selective justice!!
Now this is the proper way , to resign if there is a court case against you .
