PESHAWAR:

Gomal University in DI Khan has declared the bachelor’s degree of former minister and Pakistan Peoples Party leader Rahim Dad Khan as fake.

“The BA degree bearing serial number 10990, roll number 12058 of session 2005 and registration number 620-Gomal-04 issued to Rahim Dad Khan, son of Saifullah Khan, is hereby canceled for all matters and purposes. Registration number 620-Gomal-04 actually belongs to Rahim Dad Khan, son of Ali Marjan, a BA candidate with roll number 11794 of session 2007(A), who appeared as a private candidate from Tank district and was given serial number 026629,” states a notification issued by Gomal University’s deputy registrar and examination in charge of the Degree Cell on November 14.

On June 2, 2010, the Peshawar High Court summoned Gomal University’s Vice Chancellor to show all available records on the allegedly fake degrees of Rahim Dad Khan.

The writ petition was filed against Rahim Dad Khan by his political rival who accused him of using unfair means during the elections. However, on May 8, 2013, PHC dismissed the petition against the supposedly fake degree of Rahim Dad Khan.

It took more than one year to check if the degree was fake or not? It should have been done in one week. KPK Governemnt and Police needs to put a time limit for processing of all work. That way, their performance will increase.
