Rigging allegations: Election tribunal declares PML-N MPA successful in PS-76

Tribunal declares PPP MNA Parveen Junejo's election in Dadu as void

An election tribunal on Wednesday declared Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MPA Liaquat Jatoi 'successful' in regard to his claims of election rigging in the Dadu district.

Jatoi had accused Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MPA Parveen Junejo -- who is currently abroad to seek treatment -- of winning the seat, PS-76, through rigging. The tribunal declared her election as void today.

Jatoi had made the rigging allegations a year ago, and had also said he had proof of the rigging. He had then claimed to approach the tribunals and the judiciary, and vowed to continue to protest till re-elections were announced.

Further, Jatoi had said that the PPP had hired criminals to beat and kidnap polling agents of opponent candidates.
