KARACHI:
A policeman and a political worker were shot dead in separate incidents in the city on Tuesday. Head constable Adeeb Abbasi, 35, was shot dead near Badar Chowk in Orangi Town within the limits of Mominabad police station. Armed motorcyclists injured him by shooting him twice in his chest and shoulder. He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Police officials said that it was a continuation of attacks targeting law enforcers in the city. Meanwhile, a Muttahida Qaumi Movement worker was shot dead in Korangi in the jurisdiction of Zaman Town police. The police said that Asif Gujjar, 38, used to supply bakery goods in the area and was at work when he was gunned down by unidentified motorcyclists. His body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for an autopsy.
