In Multan, six centres have been set up with 15 sub-centres.
Punjab Public Service Commission Deputy Director Muhammad Shabbir told The Express Tribune that centres had been set up in Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur after many candidates complained that they could not travel to other cities for the exams.
He said maintaining security around these centres had been a challenge.
He said the provincial government had offered great assistance in this regard.
He said district coordination officers of Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur had been provided a coordination plan for maintaining security and discipline around the examination centres.
Candidates from the south Punjab lauded the decision.
Sameena Iqbal, from Ahmedpur East, told The Express Tribune she would give the exam from Bahalwapur. She welcomed the announcement, saying it would save her inconvenience and cost of travelling.
She said many candidates will be facilitated. Combined competitive examinations in the Punjab are the second most coveted examination after the CSS with a large number of candidates competing for executive management services in the largest province of the country.
