Sustainable Energy: Minister urges low-cost solutions

The Ministry of Science and Technology is highly appreciative of efforts by the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) towards aligning its programmes with sustainable development goals and Vision 2025. This was stated by Science and Technology Minister Zahid Hamid during his visit to the varsity to inaugurate a wastewater treatment plant and meteorological high precision solar and wind measuring station. The minister urged scientists to devote their energies in finding low-cost sustainable solutions for the country’s development. The inauguration was attended by the ministry’s secretary, additional secretary of the Ministry of Water and Power, chief of the Alternative Energy Development Board, and senior officials of Unesco, World Bank and USAID, among other donor agencies.
