According to reports, the PCB were looking to host Kenya at the end of November, but The Express Tribune has learnt that the plan has been pushed to the following month as both countries’ boards were unable to reach an agreement on the previously suggested date.
The board is keen on ending the isolation that Pakistan has suffered after an armed attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in 2009.
Several attempts have been made to revive international cricket action, but none have been successful. The closest the PCB came to hosting an international team was last year when Ireland were on the verge of playing three one-dayers in Lahore.
However, a deadly attack on Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport forced them to abandon the plan.
“We’re in discussion with our Kenyan counterparts to send their team to Pakistan for a one-day series with our ‘A’ team,” said a senior PCB official.
“Now it’s been decided that the series will take place in mid-December. The details are yet to be finalised, but the PCB is confident about the materialisation of the plan.”
