LAHORE:
Justice Shams Mahmood Mirza of the Lahore High Court dismissed a petition on Wednesday that challenged the screening of an Indian film in cinemas in Pakistan. The judge told the petitioner to approach the Censor Board if he had objections to the content of the movie. Petitioner Iftikhar Ahmad said Haider, the film, challenged the ideology of Pakistan and the Two-Nation Theory. He said it aimed to defame Pakistan’s army. He said the film had objectionable content and should not be exhibited in cinemas. The judge dismissed the petition and told Ahmad to approach the relevant authority.
