Providing opportunities: Government to train fish farmers
The training course, titled ‘Latest Aquaculture Techniques’, will be commencing from November 17.

Fish farming is a very attractive and profitable business which can provide a suitable income to farmers besides creating job opportunities and help in production of white meat.
This was stated by Rawalpindi Assistant Director Fisheries (Training) Shaista Waqar while finalising arrangements of the six-day fisheries training course to be conducted by the Punjab Department of Fisheries.
She informed that the training course, titled ‘Latest Aquaculture Techniques’, will be commencing from November 17 at the Fisheries Training Sub Centre, Rawal Town, Islamabad. “This course will provide better understanding of aquaculture which will enable fish farmers to improve production,” she said.
Waqar further narrated that the government has provided every possible facility to improve skills of fish farmers and all those who opt to get into this profitable business.
She said the training wing has designed the course keeping in view all required techniques and production methods being used in fish farming.
She said in most of the areas of the province and even in barani tracks and suburbs of Rawalpindi, a large number of fish farms had been established.
The assistant director further informed a hostel facility would also be provided to the participants and asked those interested to register themselves by contacting the fisheries department located at Rawal Town, near Rawal Dam Chowk.
