The murderers confessed to the killing and surrendered themselves to police along with the murder weapon - a sharp knife.
The police moved the bodies to the Jinnah Hospital mortuary and registered an FIR under section 302.
Speaking to The Express Tribune, the forensic expert at Jinnah Hospital said that there were marks of sharp knife on the necks of the deceased.
One of the brothers accused his stepsisters of being involved in prostitution, adding that he and his brother had reservations over their characters.
“We have no regrets because we killed them in the name of honour,” the brother said.
The other brother said they had previously given warnings to their sisters for their alleged involvement in immoral activities.
“We killed our mother because she was supporting them,” he added.
SP Saddar Ijaz Shafi Dogar told The Express Tribune that it seems to be a case of honour killing and that police will carry out investigation covering all aspects.
Earlier on November 9, a man had killed his sister and her former husband in Batala Colony area.
On October 18, a man axed to death his daughter and injured his wife and brother in People’s Colony after accusing the women of having loose character.

Well said Alisad. MJ@ If you want a more accurate balanced figure to compare and contrast with the US then how about includin figures for the same kind of murders in Muslim countries. Honour killings are not in the same category as crimes of passion but I'm sure they occur in Muslim countries too.
@salim: No, not 'shame on humanity' - SHAME ON PAKISTAN. Shame on the government for not having the guts to publicly and vociferously to stamp out these barbaric murders, shame of the Imams for not having the balls to condemn each and every one of these atrocities and shame on the education system for not instilling in children from an early age how totally abhorrent such acts are.
@waqas: Are u Blaming the victims fo creat sympathy for the murderers? I am worried about your family.
@MJ: And just how many of these Pakistani "honor killers" ever see the inside of a jail cell (let alone a courtroom) in Pakistan???? You are good at providing statistics about the west, but are conveniently silent about the prosecution and conviction rate for these crimes inside Pakistan! In the west there is justice applied for murder, in Pakistan there is none!
These people murdered in cold blood the very person who gave them life and still believe that they have done an "honourable" thing??? Not even a twinge of remorse???
The rest of the World is landing rovers on Mars and moving comets and we Pakistanis are doing this.
@waqas: "prostitution is a menace to the society …govt should take step uproot this evil from the society otherwise thousand of houses will be destroyed in the future like this one" So the words of these brutal murderers are divine and you have believed them with your mind closed? Every murderer would come up with some reason and you would believe that and go with that?
prostitution is a menace to the society ......... govt should take step uproot this evil from the society otherwise thousand of houses will be destroyed in the future like this one
Murderers, pure and simple. Shame on the ones that guided their religious beliefs, allowing them to believe that such activities were acceptable in civilized society.
On average, 3 women are murdered in US every day by their boyfriends, husbands or exes because either they cannot control those women or the women want out of the relationship or have someone else in their lives. If you don't believe the stats. that I have quoted feel free to search on Google. Although the men in US do not have the phrase 'honor killing' in their daily vocabulary these murders are nothing but a "civilized" form of honor killing. Even with application of somewhat strict law enforcement in US where almost all of these murderers end up in jail, very few get punished by death sentences or life imprisonment. I am not defending what happens in Pakistan, just telling how things are on the other side of the globe. Grass is always greener on the other side.
Honor killing is oxymoron or paradoxical word. Killing an old mother and stepsisters is not an act of bravery but cowardice. Shame on these two killers who were consumed by hatred of the stepsisters. Why in most of these cases only women are the usual victims?
@Prognosticator: You obviously haven't heard about Afghani refugee man in Canada who killed his wife and daughters recently. The government is introducing a law against such behavior this year because people are sickened by such behavior. There is no honour is such behavior anywhere in the world.
shame om humanity....
Shameful that such atrocities are happening in Pakistan.
@Saeed: "We need to educate our people that there is no honor in killing."
Hmm.. I thought that
s common sense not to kill one
s own mother.. but then may be you are right! You need to educate people.. Sic..Still there are so called 'human rights activist' who oppose the death penalty for such wicked criminals and other terrorists.
At this rate v will run out of women to bear sons .
Everyday you can see the growing purity of Pakistan. Even own mothers aren't spared.
In the other hand All Private School Federation announce anti-Malala day.
Sorry for the ladies are we living in 21st century.
We need to educate our people that there is no honor in killing. We should teach our society that everyone is an individual and is responsible of their own actions and whole family should not be looked down for the actions of an individual in the family.
Inna Lillahe WA Inna Ilaihe Rajeoon. Ameen. My respects to the departed ladies. The solution to this is plain and simple............QUICK JUSTICE FOR PREMEDITATED MURDER. To do this, our courts must have the b---- to carry it out and the state must have the capacity in the form of laws, mind you, no out dated British era laws. Salams
Sick people. They should be hanged to death as early as possible so that people should think before committing such crimes. May Allah Almighty protect us all.
