West Indies ‘A’ reached 63 for the loss of no wickets on the first day of the opening unofficial Test against Pakistan ‘A’ at the Arnos Vale Ground in St Vincent.

Pakistan elected to field but rain restricted the opening day’s play to just 31 overs as the bowlers struggled to grab a wicket and the hosts made a solid start with the openers looking confident. Kieran Powell scored 33 with three boundaries and Kraigg Brathwaite remained unbeaten on 26, hitting two fours, as the opening pair put an unbeaten partnership to frustrate the tourists.

Pakistan-discard Yasir Arafat bowled a decent opening spell, conceding just six runs in his six overs before it started raining during the lunch interval, forcing the umpires to call off play an hour before the scheduled close.
