KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) chief justice, Maqbool Baqar, directed the provincial police chief and the SP to file their reports on the whereabouts of a kidnapped director of the National Highways Authority.

Justice Baqar passed these directives on Tuesday in an application filed by SHC's senior clerk, Zeeshan Shaikh.

According to Zeeshan, some unknown men had kidnapped his brother, Shabbir Ahmed Shaikh, who is serving as director in the National Highways Authority, as he was travelling from district Benazirabad to Moro on November 7.

Since the police have made no progress so far, Zeeshan pleaded the court order the police officers to find his brother.

CJ Maqbool Baqar converted the application into a constitutional petition and issued directives to the police IG and the relevant SP to submit their reports on the whereabouts of the missing NHA director by Wednesday.
