The infants - one just 3-days-old - passed away of malnutrition and thirst in the town of Diplo, Tharparkar.
According to an official list prepared by the district administration, there have been 275 deaths of children due to drought-related illnesses.
Primarily, Sindh and Balochistan have arid-area populations that are at risk of drought, food insecurity and almost invariably, poor general health.
The people of these areas live on the very margins of the possible in terms of human habitation and sustainability.

This is a famine like situation and surprisingly there is not enough action from the government and NGOs.
@Parvez:
All have gone into long slumber, because they have no conscience to face it....or they are not getting any money from international NGO for looking into this issue. Otherwise, they seem to have no value for human lives like most of our political & civil society members...
Why are the ' Human Rights '.....' Womens Rights '....... ' Childrens Rights ' activists relatively quiet on this utter disgraceful event unfolding, it seems that only the media and especially he TV is rendering a responsible service.
People are dying of drought in Tharparkar and our PM is busy visiting countries like China and Germany. A country where the PM cant provide basic food to its citizens has no right to take his whole family on personal business trips using the state of Pakistan resources. This shows the reality of our present rulers and how the diminishing threat from PTI has embolden them to start their international party again which they were doing before the PTI protests started back in Aug 2014.
We all saw how PM was in the parliament when he felt threatened and now that he believes all the corrupt parties in the parliament stands by the status quo of looting and plundering of this nation and the army and judiciary themselves scared of any honest leader to take the helm of affairs in this forsaken country, everyone is enjoying it except the poor who are losing their children everyday.
