Police foiled separate sabotage plots by seizing explosives from different parts of the province on Sunday.


In Haripur, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) along with the police seized a large quantity of explosive material and arrested a suspect, said police officials.


They added CTD’s force headed by DSP Saeed Tanoli stopped a vehicle on Khanpur Road and upon searching it, found 31 kilogrammes of explosive material, 215 dynamites, 110 detonators and 550-metre safety fuse.


The police also arrested an accused identified as Wilayat Khan, son of Dolat Khan, a resident of Taxila. Police said the accused was transporting the explosive material to Haripur from Punjab. It has yet to be ascertained where he was planning to deliver or use the consignment.


In Shabqadar, police foiled an attack on a pylon in Samanat. An official of Sro Kalay police, Wilayat Khan, said he was informed about the device being present at the base of a 132KV pylon which supplies power to Mohmand Agency.
