Interaction: Indian journalists visit NPC

Visiting journalists said India and Pakistan were bound together in history and culture

Pakistani and Indian journalists have called upon the media to promote good relations between the two countries. A group of Indian journalists on Friday visited the National Press Club (NPC) and exchanged views with Pakistani journalists on issues, challenges and opportunities for the media in the two countries. Visiting journalists Dr Manju Dagar Chaudhary and Kumesh Chaudhary said India and Pakistan were bound together in history and culture. They said the media and sports can play role in promoting friendly Pak-India ties. Dagar said she was surprised to see Pakistani women’s participation in public life, particularly in the media. Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) President Afzal Butt and NPC President Shehryar Khan briefed the Indian journalists about the role of PFUJ and the press club. NPC Secretary Tariq Mehmood Chaudhary presented shields to the visiting Indian journalists.
