A five-day anti-polio drive will commence in high risk areas of Rawalpindi district from November 10.
During the campaign, polio drops will be given to around 162,000 children below age five.
During the drive, polio teams will visit 13 union councils of Rawalpindi city, five union councils of the Cantonment area, six union councils of Taxila and five union councils of rural areas, Executive District Officer Health Dr Zafar Iqbal Gondal said.
He said that the special drive was being carried out as sewage samples collected from these areas indicated presence of polio virus.
“No stone will be left unturned in our efforts to make the campaign a success,” he said.
