Temple Restoration Case: SHC summons chief engineer, others
The case was filed by the All Pakistan Hindu Panchayat Council
KARACHI:
The Sindh High Court (SHC) summoned the chief engineer and the representatives of the real estate developer on Thursday over their failure to restore the damaged parts of the historic Shri Ratneshwar Mahadev temple within the stipulated time. “It seems that nothing concrete has been done in pursuance of the orders passed in the present proceedings,” said SHC chief justice Maqbool Baqar, who headed the bench, while hearing a petition against the execution of a traffic improvement project in Clifton. “We, however, by way of sheer indulgence, are inclined to grant a few more days and will defer the hearing till November 11.” The two-judge bench ordered that the chief engineer and representatives of the proposed intervener be present in court along with the relevant record on November 10. The case was filed by the All Pakistan Hindu Panchayat Council.
