According to Express News, Qureshi stepped forward to greet Indian citizens and BSF troops on the other side of the border and accidentally crossed the marked line.
However, Pakistan Rangers informed Qureshi and he moved back. Soon after, the PTI leader joked, "I stepped into India" as someone in the backdrop added, "Without a visa."
Crossing the border line and stepping into territory normally results in the trespasser’s arrest.
The PTI vice chairman was visiting the border to condemn the suicide blast at the site that killed 61 people on November 2.

I can only laugh at your innocence, my dear indian friend..
Very sad how some of the folks here are giving it colors on such enemy and brutal lines. It was a petty human transgression which was taken by everyone with lightly and candidly. Respect for the Indian families and the great soldier on the Indian side who although had no duty to salute to Qureshi specially when he had crossed the border, still out of respect he saluted him.
These boundaries and borders are rubbish in this globalized age. Peace will happen one day and economies will surpass all these stupid chidlish notions. It just depends on us whether we do it early to do later some decades down from here.
@Homer:
"Only PTI leaders have the courage to cross enemy lines without fear"
How did it become enemy lines? We never said we're your enemies. And except for war times, we never said you're our enemy also.
Contrary to that Pakistan calls India your enemy all the time.
haha.. the Indian officer came to shake SMQ's hand.... its not a big deal really.... when I visited Wagah border last in 2000.... we were taking pics at that point... and my father jokingly called the Indian officer "yaat tum bhi aajao tasweer main".... so he conveniently moved into the frame... though Pakistani officer was kind of frowning but it was all fun...
People, let there be good will amongst all nations and their peoples, here is an old Scottish saying; "We’re a’ Jock Tamson’s bairns!" – We’re all God’s children, nobody is better than anybody else , we’re all equal.
in 1970, as a 7 year old, we visited The Wagah border, my parents observed an elderly Sikh waving and running towards us from afar , when he reached us at the crossing, tears were flowing from his eyes down his extra long beard and he stood directly in front of us separated by the demarcation lines with his arms openly stretched out beckoning the little boy child, my son,my son come to me as he wept.
At this scene ,the two Peacock Man Sentries looked at one another, who looked at my parents . all nodded simultaneously, as I crossed the border, the man mountain of a man hugged me,kissed me so much that his love could not be exhausted as tears of his joyous happiness painted my face wet. The grand Sikh explained to my parents that he had lost a child of his during a war and that I reminded him of his offspring now,may he rest in peace,
By now ten minutes or so had elapsed, the two Guardians of the nations passed a wry smile and mischievous wink to one another as I crossed my way back to my parents. now when I reflect on this, on either side of this man made divide I felt that I was at home.
@Homer: lol at your childish mind.
BSF troops should have shot him down for crossing the border you know 'Jokingly'
It was a good humor. And pleasantly welcoming that neither side behaved like animal over such innocent transgression.
Doing unlawful acts! You call it courage.? What if an Indian leader do it to cross into Pakistan's territory.
@PMLN: Not as stupid as your parties failure of preventing the attack on the wagah border and the lynching of a Christian couple.
The barriers should be on line...any body can cross
Only PTI leader can be that stupid! They are calling it courage.
@Nawaz: Sad but true .
Only PTI leaders have the courage to cross enemy lines without fear
The world has progressed so much to break boundaries which countries have created. We are still stuck in this stupid system. Good luck
