Shah called for meaningful dialogue between the government and the protesting PTI.
The leader of the opposition reiterated his belief that talks could resolve all matters, including a judicial commission for probing alleged electoral rigging, if the PTI chief agrees to it.
The government has yet to appoint a permanent CEC after the previous incumbent Justice (retd) Fakhruddin G Ebrahim had resigned in July 2013.
PTI has been staging a sit-in in Islamabad for nearly 80 days over alleged election rigging, demanding that the May 2013 polls should be aduited and electoral reforms are implemented along with the resignation of the prime minister.
