Suspected kidnappers: Woman among four arrested, man recovered

Physical remand of the suspects has been obtained and further investigation is under way

The Islamabad Police have arrested four kidnappers, including a woman, and recovered an abducted man from captivity without paying the ransom amount of Rs5 million, the police said on Sunday.


Jamdar Khan, a resident of Shakrial, had gone to the police saying his brother, Bahadur Khan, was kidnapped by unidentified persons. A case under section 365-A of the Pakistan Penal Code was registered at the Koral Police Station.

Following the FIR, IGP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan constituted a special team under the supervision of SP (Rural) Zubair Ahmed Sheikh which also included SHO Koral Inspector Rauf Kiyani, Inspector Muhammad Aslam and other police officials.

The team used all available resources and succeeded in arresting the kidnappers, including the woman, and also recovered three 30-bore pistols from them. The alleged kidnappers have been identified as Khizer Ikram, Ahmed Khan, Rehan and Sabar Meena.

The alleged kidnappers abducted Khan from Ali Pur and kept him at a rented house there, said the police, adding that physical remand of the suspects has been obtained and further investigation is under way.
