RAWALPINDI:

The chairman of the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Project Hanif Abbasi and Rawalpindi Commissioner Zahid Saeed, who also heads the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), reviewed construction work on the transport project on Saturday.

They asked contractors to expedite work by extending working hours and running night shifts.

The meeting was attended by traffic police officials, RDA chief engineer and contractors.

Abbasi observed that the girder launching process was slow and asked contractors to speed up the process.

They decided to carry out girder launching work at night, between 8pm and 7am, so the routine traffic flow is not disturbed. In addition, girders will also be placed on Sundays.
