Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan, who made his Bollywood debut with the film Khoobsurat, has been ranked the fifth best actor in India, according to a list released by Times Celebex.

According to their website, Times Celebex powered by Zoom, is the most definitive rating index of Bollywood stars and the power they yield over the public. Based on their popularity, performance and visibility, the ‘T Score’ is calculated by measuring various parameters ranging from box office performance to PR buzz to online following.

Salman Khan is the reigning king of the list at number one, followed by Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar and then Fawad Khan.

Before his leap to number 5, Fawad was ranked as number 26.

Pakistani actor Ali Zafar, who also ventured into Bollywood in 2010, with the film Tere Bin Laden, is ranked 38 on the list.

Congrats to Fawad, but to be honest, there aren’t that many good actors who are popular in Bollywood.

A big congrats to Fawad. Just one film old, and already in the top bracket..He is an extremely talented actor and deserves every bit of appreciation. It’s just a matter of time for him to get to number one spot.

Frankly none of the actors rated ahead of him can act! I can think of others who should be on the list. But the parameters are so strange – talent doesn’t figure at all!! So Fawad scores anyway which is great! I reckon he would give any of the ‘good’ actors a run for their money if he were to compete on genuine and sensible grounds related to acting. Way to go :)

    @Ali S:
There are many good actors who are popular. If one goes by a simple yard stick of have they managed give a superhit single hero imovie to judge popularity (not talent) then apart from the oldies there are several newbies that have managed that: Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Aditya Roy Kapoor, siddhartha Malhotra all have done so. Each one also has at least one movie where their acting was really nice. This is not to mention the not so new but still very talented and popular Shahid Kapoor, Ranbeer – apart from the Khans, Hrithik, Akshay and Ajay Devgn.

So far Fawad has not given a superhit movie. His poplarity is primarily linked to TV. Also one movie where Sonam had the main role is not enough to judge whether he will succeed in a wide range of roles. But I liked him in Khubsoorat and wish him every success.

in bollywood collection of film, promotion, publicity, castings etc mainly matters………..talent has nothing to do anything ………….though fawad khan has done only one film, but he has already proved his talent in in his dramas…..and he got appreciation and popularity in india on the basis of his talent only………………what he achieved in bollywood is because of his talent only ……………and we should not forget that he belongs to ouher country and what he achieved in india in such a short time is really commendable ………………………because talent is respected everywhere……………a. big congrats to fawad …………………waiting for your next movie………………

Really, he is rated ahead of Amir Khan as an actor? Frankly I question the methodology of this list. He maybe a good actor but just seeing him in one movie doesn’t prove that.

Why are people getting so hyper. This list is about the popular actor of the month. The list gets updated every month. Its possible fawad could be number 1 or number 100 depending on twitter hastag trends publucations of his name in magaxines and online hits. The list is not on the basis of acting. Its more like a popular celebrity of the month kind of thing.
however fawad is quiet talented and his movie may have done lukewarm business in India but overseas it was a superhit and did asmuch business as any srk or hrithik movie. He is an international superstar so when judging his films that fact needs to be taken into account…

    Akshay Kumar can act?

The current best actors in India list should include Irrfan Khan and Naseeruddin Shah.

Fawad should get the best hair award.

I am always amazed by Pakistanis how jealous they are of other Pakistanis doing well, there are those mean, critical, jealous and downright cruel people who are bent in criticizing their own brethren, I am curious is it a sign of inferiority complex, a sense of vile jealousy or just a way of life for some? Whether its Fawad, Malala or Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy there are those standing eagerly to put them down/

Fawad is a better actor than Akshay but this is also about star power and popularity and how much of a buzz is being created . I just hope he picks a more interesting role next time and a story with more depth . I loved Khoobsurat it was fun but I think Fawad can do more serious roles even better .

Frankly speaking Fawad didn’t show any acting skill in his first movie. Somehow he made it to list probably his PR firm paid good amount to the publication.

To ‘appreciate’ the claims of ‘…best actor in India’, one has to know that out of total movies produced in India in 2012, Bollywood movies constitute only mere 14%.
If you dont believe me, check this out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CinemaofIndia#Regional_industries

Otherwise, Fawad looks great, especially his hair style…

T-Score a measure of the following:

    Box Office Returns and Recognition
Ability to stay in the news across print and TV
Visibility through Brand Endorsements on Print and TV
Promotions of their upcoming movie releases on Print and TV
Popularity among fans across mediums including the Internet and Social Media

    Nothing to do with SKILL
