Lyari encounter: Police kill three in shootout

Bodies shifted to Civil Hospital, identified as Imdad Baloch, Gul Hassan Mullah and Sharif Baloch

KARACHI: Police claimed killing three gangsters in an alleged encounter in the old city area of Lyari. Police said they had raided a hideout of the gangsters at Rangi Wara area, but the criminals instead of surrendering opened fire on the police party. During an exchange of fire, the police claimed that three gangsters were killed while their companions managed to escape in the congested lanes. The bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital, where they were identified as Imdad Baloch, Gul Hassan Mullah and Sharif Baloch. Police officials claimed that the slain gangsters were involved in a number of criminal cases.
