KARACHI: As Cyclone Nilofar headed towards Sindh on Thursday, the speaker of the Sindh Assembly made his way to the mazar of Abduallah Shah Ghazi to ask the Saint to keep Karachi safe. While speaking to the media afterwards, the speaker said that Sindh was the land of Sufis. “Nothing will happen to Karachi because of Abdullah Shah Ghazi,” he said. “There is no danger from Nilofar now.” He added that he had also prayed to the Saint to get rid of all corrupt officials and bureaucrats as the people of Sindh could get no relief or help till officers were appointed on merit. He claimed that, unfortunately, the right people were not working in the right places. He said that they needed to revise their policy and focus on it. He added that like Nilofar, the country’s political cyclone would also come to its end in a couple of days.
