Couple’s murder: Suspect yet to be identified

ISLAMABAD: A servant of the couple found dead at their home in Sector E-11/4 on Wednesday, who is also a suspect, has yet to be nominated and identified. Police say the complainant, Muhammad Ishaq, has not nominated the suspect in the case as no one knows of his whereabouts and identity. Riaz Mehmood and his wife Zakia Riaz were found dead with their hands and feet tied with a rope and mouths taped. “The killer strangled the victims, whose noses were bleeding,” said SI Muneer Ahmed, the investigation officer. In the verbal post-mortem report, Ahmed said, doctors confirmed there were no torture marks nor was the woman sexually assaulted, adding that the bodies seemed to be two days old. He said the couple was not very social, and the police have yet to ascertain the servant’s identity.
