The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has sustained an approximate loss of Rs5.1 million due to the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and Pakistan Awami Tehreek sit-ins in the Red Zone so far.
According to an official CDA document, damage to the iron fence and footpaths of the Parliament House is calculated to be Rs800,000.
The document says that damage to a high mast electric pole in the parking area of the Parliament House is Rs70,000 while damage to the CDA enquiry office in Sector F-5 is Rs2 million.

The protesters also damaged turf, soil, median strip, seasonal flowers, side strip, sprinkling system, and floral towers and the losses of these are calculated at Rs1.7 million. Moreover, the civic agency says it has incurred losses of Rs0.6 million in damages to footpaths and Rs25,000 in damages to the authority’s vehicles.
It says these are preliminary estimates and exact figures could be ascertained only after the Red Zone is fully accessible to the authority for a survey.
