Both sides competed closely in the first half; however, Muhammad Sarfaraz's goal in the 45th minute helped Army take the lead 1-0 at the interval. K-Electric then replied in the second half through Muhammad Riaz’s equaliser in the 86th minute.
According to K-Electric captain Essa Khan, his team could have won the match with a margin of four goals if they had successfully capitalised on opportunities that came their way.
"I'm worried about the team now," Essa told The Express Tribune. "The season hasn't gone the way we were expecting. So far, we've played five matches, so we have some time to recover. We really aren't out of the running. Not yet at least!"
Essa added that the team will be able to perform better once their Nigerian squad members Oludeyi Abayomi Sunday and midfielder Wilson join them today.
With the result, Army remain at the top of the table with 18 points after playing eight matches; this was their third draw in the season. Meanwhile, last year's runners-up K-Electric continue on the 11th spot with five points.
Meanwhile, in the second match of the day, Wapda defeated Muslim FC 3-1 at the Railways Stadium in Lahore.
Both teams played a goalless first half before Muslim FC's Muhammad Tahir struck in the 56th minute.
Wapda's Waseem Abbas equalised eight minutes later, and Muhammad Asif scored in the 81st minute.
According to match-commissioner Muhammad Rizwan, the match was discontinued for five minutes, as Muslim FC protested Asif's goal.
Wapda sealed the win with their third goal in the eighth minute of the extra-time through Asim Mansoor.
