The rise in number of dengue patients in both Lahore and Rawalpindi has raised alarms for the health authorities, bringing the total figure to 910 in Punjab, Express News reported on Thursday.
These patients are currently admitted in various hospitals of both the cities.
On October 16, a 26-year-old patient suffering from dengue breathed his last, becoming the first person to have died from the virus this year in Lahore.
Mass awareness campaigns were launched via print and electronic media last month. Government departments and educational institutes had organised several seminars and walks to raise awareness as well.
