Deadly Accident: Soldier dies; 14 injured in road accident

FAISALABAD: An army jawan died and 14 others sustained injuries in a road accident early on Wednesday. The accident occurred on the Chiniot-Jhang Road when an army truck carrying them overturned while trying to avoid an oncoming car near Qasba Gandola. Lance Naik Qamar Abbas died on the spot from the injuries sustained in the accident. A Rescue 1122 team took the 14 injured to Chiniot Civil Hospital. Two of the seriously injured soldiers were later taken to the Allied Hospital Faisalabad. Muhammad Akram, a doctor at the Chiniot Civil Hospital, said that nine of the injured had been discharged after medical treatment.
