Traffic Police DIG Dr Ameer Ahmed Sheikh has announced that on Muharram 8, 9 and 10 (November 2, 3 and 4), processions will be held from Nishter park to Hussainian Iranian Imam Bargah in Kharadar.
He added that participants will need to display special stickers on their vehicles which they wish to join the processions. The DIG said that law enforcement agencies, officials of district administration, ambulances and media organisations will apply for stickers from October 29 to 31 at his office at the Police Headquarters, Garden. The stickers will be issued to the applicants on November 1.
Government departments will need to provide a departmental letter, mentioning the list of vehicles they will deploy for the procession.
Meanwhile, ambulance service providers and media organisations must provide attested copies of the vehicles' registrations books, identification details of the owners and drivers as well as three photographs of the driver.
The vehicles of scouts, welfare organisations and people wishing to distribute niaz will submit their application forms along with the relevant documents at the Scouts Rabita Council office at Numaish (Phone no. 021-3549 9955).
The required documents include registration book of the vehicle, national identity card and licence of the driver as well as three attested photographs of the driver and the owner of the vehicle.
