ABBOTTABAD:
Hundreds of chicks died when a poultry farm caught fire in a remote village of Havelian tehsil, police said on Wednesday. The owner of Riaz Poultry Services in Phulangali, Muhammad Riaz, told the police he was disposing the waste of chicks with two of his employees on Tuesday afternoon when a fire erupted in one of the two sheds housing over 3,000 two-week-old chicks. The fire soon engulfed the entire building, incurring a loss of Rs1 million. Police said a short circuit was the cause of the fire.
