According to sources privy to the development, the PML-N has constituted district committees – in six districts, including Lahore – to coordinate with various departments. For these districts, the party has also finalised chairmen and members of market committees, Zakat and Ushar committees and Baitul Maal committees.
Before Eidul Azha, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had assigned MNA Hamza Shahbaz Sharif the task to start working on revival of party structures at district level to enable its effective role in constituency politics.
Hamza Shahbaz is now working on the task as the PML-N’s senior leadership plans to accommodate its office-bearers at the district level in various positions across the country, particularly in Punjab.
A high level official in PML-N said: “The basic function of the appointed party workers is to facilitate party voters and workers in resolving their issues related to various departments.”
He said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) public gatherings particularly in Punjab have forced the PML-N’s leadership to revive its old structure for winning their constituencies and to strengthen the party at districts level. He said the party had used these arrangements effectively during 2008-2013.
The PML-N leader said if Punjab government conducted local government polls, the newly revived structures would help the party win almost all district LG election like it did in previous general election.
The PML-N has so far finalised 32 committees for the six districts. Hamza is in-charge of appointments and after finalisation of the 38 districts of Punjab will ask the provincial government to notify the committees.
District committees
District Coordination Committee (DCC) is responsible to oversee development works and ongoing projects of the party in the concerned district. In the DCC, the PML-N has appointed party workers and office-bearers as well as MPAs and MNAs, who along with the DCO concerned preside over the meetings where party decides which area needs development works.

Those commenting here that the PMLN should be focusing on deliverance should realize that you cannot deliver without being politically active in the masses. If you want to gain strength in governance, you've got to have links with the grass roots and there is none better than your own party workers because they are the ones who face all the criticism and therefore, have a better understanding of the problems. So, instead of criticizing everything you see on web about PMLN, develop some understanding of the words you use so excessively i.e. deliverance, governance etc
I like NS and SS, for they are truly working to deliver prosperity for this country.

My vote for PMLn. Zaman Khan Lahore
Good thinking by NS. For those who are commenting that PMLn has been weakened, may you be reminded of the win in Sheikupura, where the independent candidate was supported by PPP, JI, PMLQ and PTI. PMLn bagged more votes than in 2013 general election even when voter turnout was lower.
@Frank: PMLn has delivered far more than any other party. And get your facts right as this country has not seen 34 yrs of democratic rule but military rule. don't spread lies at least.
PTI has awakened the sleeping giant, too early too soon for its own good.
Instead of learning from the events over the past 70 days PML-N has it’s heads buried in sand and continues to play old tricks… more nepotism, sycophants and old tricks of hand-outs…. you are missing probably the last chance you have! Basically, PML-N didn’t even bother to campaign, let alone re-organise in the last elections, knowing full well which way the result will go. May 2013 elections should be declared null and void by the Supreme Court without delay.
PML-N IS going to help people with there issues just like there bouncy cheques given to the poor flood victims, try anything you want the Pakistan avaam has seen your true colors noon league will never win.
@roadkashehzada: You are having a laugh, if you stop questioning the elections, you will never be able to get fair elections in futures. In past nobody created hue and cry over elections no matter fair or not fair and that is the very reason we have elections like this today. Regardless of the outcome there should be a probe in election to set a precedent that if you do rigging it will not be tolerated. That's the only way people will think twice before rigging. Democracy you are preaching means question everything that the Govt of the time does and is held accountable. You can't question dictatorship, and that is the difference between Democracy and dictatorship. We need to learn to criticize and answer this criticism positively. Thanks
PMLN didn't win the election but they rigged it. So please stop spreading this false news that they won the seats. They never did and that's why they are running away from recounts.
Just deliver well till 2018 Sir, and you won’t have to worry about PTI
Someone calls NS "Sir" do you know know the title of Sir is given to those for an achievement of honour. What has NS done honourable, rigged the elections I guess Sir.
Nawaz Sharif understands the politics of patronage..........because its not complicated, he himself is a product of the same system.
Does PML-N even know about things like good governance and winning people by delivering instead of these foxy tactics?
@Frank :
You are 100% right .
@Ali Khan:
Do you really expect a man who has delivered nothing in 34 years to start doing so now?
Good to go to basic of politics to help the people on ground
It's good move to reorganise party workers so that a healthy political environment generate in Pakistan and low level problems of people can be highlighted in front of high command if it's done with senserioty, it's good move to go to basic of politics
Just deliver well till 2018 Sir, and you won't have to worry about PTI.
@Usman: u are asking to set a precedent where 9 out of 17 judges can override parliament? we hardly buried doctrine of necessity after decade and now u want another wrong precedent for lust of power of one person? today NS is PM tomorrow it might be IK. these rules and precedents will stay to haunt IK on is turn
Gullu League would do anything but end corruption and start good governance to cling to illegally gained power
