Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk, along with a delegation, will be on an official visit to Korea from October 31 to November 10.
Under article 180 of the Constitution, the office of CJP cannot be left vacant, and in the absence of CJP, a senior-most judge is appointed as acting CJP.
The president has also authorised the next senior-most judge of the apex court be available to administer an oath to the acting chief justice.
