Rehabilitation Efforts: Skill training for AJK prisoners

Latest equipment including mobile control devices and metal detectors were also being installed at the jails

MIRPUR: Inmates of prisons in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) would be given technical training in diverse disciplines to make them useful citizens after completion of their prison terms. This was disclosed by AJK Central Jail Superintendent Mirza Irshaad Hussain Jiraal while talking to APP. He said under a broad-based plan, AJK prisoners were being given training in computer education, electricity works, welding, carpet manufacturing and tailoring, among other fields. He added that large scale steps were being initiated under the ‘jails-reforms plan’ to provide all possible required facilities to elevate the standard of jails across the region. Jiraal said the plan also involves the dispensation of facilities of various sports to the inmates. The latest equipment including mobile control devices and metal detectors were also being installed at the jails, he added further.
