Within few days of pulling out from the Sindh coalition government, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Wednesday decided to part ways with the PPP led Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government too.
Dr Farooq Sattar told reporters that both the ministers of his party have submitted their resignations to AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Majeed.
MQM has two seats in the 49-member legislative assembly of AJK. Both had been part of Chaudhry Majeed’s cabinet. MQM’s Tahir Khokar was minister for transport and Saleem Butt was serving as minister for youth, and culture. These members were elected on seats reserved for Kashmiri refugees.
PPP came to power in AJK after the June 2011 elections for the legislative assembly of the state.
