LoC violation: India resorts to 'unprovoked firing' in Sialkot sector

Chenab Rangers respond to unprovoked firing and shelling from Indian BSF

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) resorted to bouts of unprovoked firing in Sialkot's Charwah sector on Wednesday, according to ISPR. 


Indian troops targeted the civil population in villages along the working boundary.

Aside from firing, the BSF also resorted to shelling after which the Chenab Rangers responded effectively.

No deaths or injuries have been reported.

"We want peace with India, but we will retaliate when there is a violation," said Director General Inter-Services Public Relations Maj General Asim Bajwa.



The latest bout of firing comes two days after Pakistan expressed its willingness for early restoration of ‘peace and tranquility’ along the Line of Control (LoC) and Working Boundary with India, as the two countries on Sunday again traded fire after a two-day hiatus.

Over a dozen Pakistani civilians have been killed, while many other injured since the clashes erupted between the two nuclear armed-neighbours on October 2. Both countries accuse each other for triggering the latest hostilities.
