Open doors: PAT introduces membership through SMS

LAHORE:

Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chairman Tahirul Qadari asked party workers on Sunday to start a membership campaign and prepare to contest the next election.

“Text your name and union council number at 80027 and you will become a PAT member,” Qadri told his supports at a public meeting at Minto Park. He asked party workers to start organising party at the union council level and use the cell phone service for the purpose.

The PAT leader said he wanted to make Pakistan an Asian leader.

“No Asia without Pakistan is our slogan,” he said. He also denied having reached a deal with the government regarding those killed in the June 17 violence in Model Town. “No diyat (bloody money) will be accepted for those killed in the violence. Only qisas (retribution) is acceptable,” he said.
