Karachi rally: Bilawal hits out at Punjab govt

KARACHI:

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari came down hard on the Shahbaz Sharif-led government in Punjab for neglecting the impoverished South Punjab.

Speaking to hundreds of thousands of PPP activists and supporters at Mazar-e-Quaid, the scion of the Bhutto family called Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif a descendent of former military dictator General Ziaul Haq and held him responsible for the June 17 Model Town tragedy that claimed the lives of 14 Pakistan Awami Tehreek workers. “Judges are their friends, bureaucrats are in their pocket. They are focused on northern regions [of Punjab] instead of improving conditions in entire Punjab,” he said, adding that Shahbaz Sharif has miserably failed to deliver even in Lahore.  “Please stop befooling people with Metro bus projects. I know you will soon stage another drama of converting a plane into a rocket to be sent to Mars,” he said addressing Shahbaz Sharif.
