The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has started taking possessing of land in Kuri Model Village.
A CDA Estate Wing squad demolished around 10 illegally built-up structures in Kuri and Rehara villages on Friday.
The CDA had acquired 2,900 acres in the Kuri Model Village in 1968, but the 'affected' people had not handed over the possession of the land to the civic agency and the issue lingered on in courts for years.
Recently, the civic agency managed to vacate stays in the courts before taking possession of the land.
Compensation will only be paid to those people who will hand over the possession of their built-up properties to the CDA, said an official.
Besides, the affected people will be allotted plots in Kuri Model Village against the demolished structures.
Work on all stalled projects of immense importance including the Park Enclave project has been started by the civic agency.
