On the first day of the military action, a security official claimed that at least 11 militants were killed. However, no further details have been issued so far.
“Khyber 1 [will have] a bad impact on Peshawar due to the geographical location of Bara, which is adjacent to the provincial capital,” said Capital City Police chief Muhammad Ijaz Khan while talking to The Express Tribune.
Khan added that as a result of the military action, displaced tribesmen and militants would enter Peshawar for shelter.
Moreover, Khan said Peshawar police is trying its best to handle the situation tactfully. In this respect, the city's police is on high alert and keeping strict vigilance over the situation in Khyber Agency in the wake of the military action.
The banned Lashkar Islam (LI), headed by Mangal Bagh, is considered a notorious militant group in Bara.
