Death anniversary: Altaf Hussain salutes Liaquat Ali Khan

LONDON: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain said that the Quaid-e-Millat Liaquat Ali Khan’s murder was still an unsolved case. Many facts linked to the assassination of the first prime minister of the country were still undisclosed, Altaf said in a statement on the 63rd death anniversary of Liaquat Ali Khan. He said that assassination of Liaquat Ali in Company Bagh (renamed Liaquat Bagh) on October 16, 1951, was a conspiracy hatched at highest level therefore, the investigation was left unfinished. It was the same place where Benazir Bhutto was assassinated on December 27, 2007. Altaf paid tributes to Liaquat Ali Khan for his services to the nation and the Pakistan movement. Nawabzada Liaquat Ali Khan, a scion of an aristocratic family of India, gave his entire wealth for the prosperity of the newly-formed Pakistan, Altaf said.
