KRL's Murtaza scored the opening goal in the 22nd minute of the match and sealed the win with his second of the night in the 42nd minute.
Meanwhile, NBP stunned former champions Wapda 2-0 at the Railways Stadium in Lahore.
Sher Muhammad opened the scoring in the 26th minute, before Muhammad Asif doubled NBP’s lead from the spot in the 43rd minute. According to NBP coach Nasir Ismail, his team's morale is at an all-time high after defeating a strong side like Wapda.
"Wapda's style was disappointing; they kept the ball in the air mostly and it wasn't very enjoyable," Ismail told The Express Tribune.
"Tanveer Ahmed is one of the coaches with the Pakistan team, and he should train his team like he trains the national footballers with coach Shamlanal Mubarak in the national camp."
